Dish Towel After the Kettle

The kettle and mug make the room look briefly useful, but the light will not settle into one account of what happened. Warmth pools over the counter while blue holds the doorway open, and the towel keeps a sharper memory than either. The sink and cabinet edges nearly agree; their small misalignment is enough to make the kitchen feel attentive. Nothing is waiting dramatically. The room is simply carrying the last few minutes longer than its occupant did.
