The Curtain Standing in the Doorway

The curtain has left its rail but not its posture. It stands across the doorway with the authority of a wall, while its folds and worn hem continue to insist on softness. The cup, chair, floorboards, and late light remain ordinary witnesses. Passage is denied not by a locked door, but by cloth that has quietly learned architecture.
